Where do I install the DataCove IM appliance? You must connect your DataCove IM appliance to your network in one of two ways:1. We recommend connecting DataCove IM to ONE or TWO ports on a managed switch that monitors incoming and outgoing traffic. DataCove IM can monitor traffic on either of its Ethernet ports.
2. Or, you can connect the DataCove IM appliance to your network via a passive NETWORK TAP. The TAP (we can provide this as an option) is installed in series between your Internet connection and the main switching device. The TAP is a PASSIVE device. It is invisible to your network, and will not interrupt your network in case of power failures. There are two Ethernet ports on a TAP that monitor incoming and outgoing traffic. Network Taps are available for Ethernet and Fiber based networks.
