Technology

DataCove monitors and archives the email in your network through a few different methods. Since DataCove is a standalone server appliance you can install it wherever convenient in your network.

Through utilizing email journaling or SMTP push technology, DataCove can archive email for virtually any type of network. DataCove archives email for the following email systems:

Lotus Notes
Novell Groupwise
First Class
Standard POP3 or IMAP

Features

The DataCove appliance is a complete archiving solution for long term storage and retrieval of email data. A list of core features includes:

Email Compliance Archiving - Using multiple archiving and storage modes, DataCove can archive all types of email communication.
SMTP Relay - Have DataCove be your central SMTP gateway in your network allowing the capture of internal and external email if you do not wish to use a journaling method.
Message Indexing and Storage - All emails are stored and catalogued using advanced methods. Emails are indexed by content, attachments, users and more.
Advanced Search - DataCove uses advanced search algorithms for fast and accurate retrieval of archived emails.
Web-Based Search - Using a function called Developmental Search, each user's database of archived emails is imported from the client's network using LDAP or through manual entry. This allows all users to perform a web-based search of their own archived emails. The IT Administrator and Compliance Officer still have access to all emails.
Scheduled Search - Basic and Advanced searches can be schedule to run as desired intervals to allow for automated network monitoring.
Reliable Long Term Permanent Storage - All data is stored locally on the appliance on high quality server class hard disc media with permanent storage written to highly reliable WORM tape technology. Meets all SEC, NYSE, and NSAD standards for permanent storage of data. Our new DATACOVE 8000L includes a 16 tape library system providing automated, long term data storage in one package.

Advanced Encryption Technology - Through the use of advance encryption methods all external storage can be protected for maximum security environments.
High Compression - Data is compressed on DataCove to allow for maximum long term storage of data even in large user environments.
Multiple User Configuration - Different level of users can be configured to have access or denied access to multiple areas of control. Allows for remote users to access records without full administration control. An excellent feature for auditing.
Outlook Connector - Add-on software that provides a direct plug-in to the Outlook client to allow users to search emails in their own accounts, and restore them if desired.
Groupwise and Lotus Notes Connectors - DataCove will also provide networks using Novell Groupwise and Lotus Notes system a fully functional plugin to allow DataCove access directly in the groupware environment. All the features are the same as our Outlook Plugin. Available 2nd Quarter 2008.
Instant Message Capable - Using the DataCove IM Appliance you can access and store Instant Messages in real time. DISCOVER DATACOVE IM NOW.
Hardware Based Operating System - DataCove does not operate directly from a hard drive. Only archived data is stored on disc and tape media. The DataCove OS is provided on solid state media to provide the highest reliability possible. The DataCove OS is now in version 4.0.
Auto-Update - Automatic updates keep DataCove current with the latest policy definitions for enhanced monitoring of compliancy; provide updates to the document file formats for content decoding, and deliver security updates against the latest vulnerabilities and malware threats.
